Transformersis the premier franchise for transforming giant robots, but it isn’t the only property that’s “more than meets the eye” in that regard. In fact, two other series are “all aboard” and ringing their sirens for another fast food collaboration this month.

The new McDonald’s Happy Meal toy set for February 2026 will feature both Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion and Tomica Heroes Jobraver. These are both brands featuring transforming robots, with the former based around trains, in particular. This is the latest such Happy Meal featuring Shinkalion, with the collab hitting McDonald’s Japan this week.

Mecha Anime Shinkalion and Jobraver Roll Into the Latest Official McDonald’s Release

Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion and Tomica Heroes Jobraver are the subjects of the latest Happy Meal toy series at McDonald’s locations in Japan, with both being major mecha brands in the country. Each Happy Meal will have different sticker and activity books based on either series, with these involving mazes, puzzles and other such games. Seen on the visuals are some of the Jobroid drones and the police car robots from Jobraver, as well as the main train robots from Shinkalion.

Given how similar the characters and concepts are, these stickers allow fans of any age to team up the titular robots like never before. The images of the Jobraver cast have them in both robot mode and vehicle mode, although the Shinkalion stickers appear to have only the robots in their robot modes and not train modes.

These giveaways are intended to be marketed as the “boys” toys for the Happy Meal promotion, whereas the “girls” giveaway involves Takara Tomy’s Himitsu no AiPri — a dress-up rhythm arcade game involving “secret idol” characters. The event will likely run for roughly one month, and fans of either mecha franchise (or Himitsu no AiPri)can look forward to the extra treat with their Happy Meals beginning Feb. 13 JST, making it an early Valentine’s Day specialty for robot lovers.

Just like the popular Transformers brand, Shinkalion and Jobraver are both owned by Takara Tomy in Japan, though Hasbro handles the robots in disguise in the West. Tomica Heroes is a loosely related spinoff of the Tomica Hero live-action tokusatsu brand, although it’s instead an anime focusing on robots that turn into emergency rescue vehicles. Meanwhile, Shinkalion began over a decade ago as a spinoff of Takara Tomy’s Plarail train toys, and it’s since had collaborations with other mecha franchises, including the iconic Neon Genesis Evangelion.
